God Is Love | Dios Es Amor

The essence of God is love. It is not merely something He gives—it is who He is. In 1 John 4:8-9, we are told that whoever does not love does not know God, because “God is love.” His very nature is love, and that love was most powerfully displayed through the sending of His Son into the world so that we could have life through Him.

1 John 4:8-9

“The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love. The love of God was revealed among us by this—that God sent His one and only Son into the world so that we might live through Him.”

1 Juan 4:8-9

“El que no ama, no ha conocido a Dios; porque Dios es amor. En esto se mostró el amor de Dios para nosotros: en que Dios envió a su Hijo unigénito al mundo, para que vivamos por él.”

This passage makes it clear: the proof of knowing God is love. Not just any love, but the kind that reflects His selfless, sacrificial heart.

God Demonstrated His Love | Dios Demostró Su Amor

Love is not just words—it’s action. The most incredible demonstration of love in history is found in John 3:16, where God gave His Son so that we might live. His love moved Him to act, to sacrifice, and to offer eternal life to a broken world.

John 3:16

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Juan 3:16

“Porque de tal manera amó Dios al mundo, que dio a su Hijo unigénito, para que todo aquel que cree en Él no se pierda, sino que tenga vida eterna.”

This love is for everyone. No matter your past, your mistakes, or your doubts—this love is for you.

He First Loved Us | Él Nos Amó Primero

We are only capable of truly loving others because God loved us first. This foundational truth in 1 John 4:19 reminds us that our ability to love flows from being loved by God. His love initiates, awakens, and empowers ours.

When we live from the reality of God’s love, we can extend that same love to others—freely, graciously, and sacrificially.

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for loving me first. Thank You for showing me what true love looks like through Jesus. Help me to know You more deeply so that I may love like You love. Teach me to be patient, kind, and full of grace. Let Your love flow through me to my family, my friends, and even my enemies. May I be a living testimony of the love You have shown to the world. In Jesus’ name, amen.
